Spin Art Studio: privacy and terms

Privacy policy

Spin Art Studio is made by Daddy's Games, a small independent developer. It has no ads, no accounts and no tracking, and we don't collect any personal information. This policy covers the Spin Art Studio Android app.

The short version

• We don't collect, store, sell or share any information about you.
• There are no ads, no analytics, no trackers and no sign-up.
• Your art and any pictures you add stay on your device unless you choose to share them.
• When you buy the app or an add-on, Google Play handles the payment. We never see your name, email or payment details.

What stays on your device

To remember your choices, the app keeps a few things in its own private storage on your phone. Nothing in that storage is ever sent to us. It holds:

• Your settings, such as the background scene, the finish and the menu layout
• Shapes you draw yourself, projects you save (with their time-lapse pictures), and the pieces in My gallery
• A copy of the painting you're working on, saved automatically so you can carry on if your phone closes the app, and your saved colour mixes
• Pictures you choose as a background, a paper texture or a picture to paint with

To remove all of it, uninstall the app or clear its storage in your phone's settings.

Pictures you add

When you load a picture, use a photo as the background or texture, or paint with a picture, the app only opens the file you choose. It doesn't look through your photos and never uploads anything.

Saving and sharing

• Save picture, GIF or time-lapse video puts your art in your phone's Gallery (in a Spin Art Studio album).
• Share hands your picture to the app you choose, such as WhatsApp or Instagram, through your phone's normal share menu. Before anything is added to a post, the app asks you first, including whether to add a link to the app on Google Play.

Once you share something, the app or website you send it to looks after it under its own privacy policy.

Buying the app and add-ons

Google Play sells Spin Art Studio, and any add-ons we offer later, and takes the payments. Google's privacy policy covers the information Google collects when you buy.

From Google Play, we only get what's needed to make your purchase work: confirmation of what you've bought, and anonymous sales totals and reports in our Google Play developer account. We don't receive your payment details. We don't use any purchase information to track you, advertise to you, or build a profile of you.

If add-ons are added, the app checks with the Google Play app on your phone which add-ons you own, so it can unlock them. That check happens between the app and Google Play. We don't send it to our own servers.

Permissions

The Android app asks for as little as it can:

• Storage, only on older phones (Android 9 and earlier), so it can save your art to the Gallery
• Vibration, for a gentle buzz when paint splashes (you can switch it off under More > Performance)
• Google Play purchases, only if add-ons are offered, so the app can ask Google Play which add-ons you own

The app has no ads or analytics, and doesn't use your camera, microphone, location or contacts. Right now it doesn't connect to the internet at all. If a future update needs to, for example for add-ons, we'll explain why here first.

Links to other places

Some buttons open other websites or apps, for example the social sharing buttons. Those open only when you tap them, and what happens there is covered by their own policies.

Children

Spin Art Studio is made to be enjoyed by kids and grown-ups together. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. We suggest a grown-up helps younger children with sharing, and children should always ask a grown-up before buying anything. Parents can set up purchase approval in Google Play.

Our website

This policy is also published at daddysgames.com so it can be read before downloading. The website is separate from the app.

• The Spin Art Studio pages don't add any ads, analytics or tracking of their own.
• The features page remembers, in your own browser, whether you've read its photosensitivity warning, so it doesn't ask every time. That choice stays on your device and is never sent to us.
• The share buttons only open Facebook, WhatsApp and the other sites when you tap them. What happens there is covered by their own policies.
• Like any website, our host (GoDaddy) keeps basic technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run the site and keep it secure. We don't use them to identify or track anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. We'll never start collecting personal information without making that clear first.

These terms are for anyone using the Spin Art Studio app for Android. By using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Your licence to use the app

When you buy or download Spin Art Studio, you get a personal licence to use it on your own devices. You don't own the app itself.

Please don't copy, resell, share or redistribute the app or its add-ons, or pass them off as your own. Don't try to unlock paid features without paying for them.

Buying the app and add-ons

• Who handles payment. The Android app is sold through Google Play. We may also offer optional add-ons, such as extra paints, papers, tools or scenes. Google Play takes all payments for the app and its add-ons, under Google Play's own terms. We never see or store your payment details.
• Prices. These are shown in Google Play before you buy, and may change over time. A price change doesn't affect something you've already bought.
• Where your purchases work. Purchases are linked to the Google account you used to buy them. You can restore them on other Android devices signed in to that account.
• Children. Children should always ask a grown-up before buying anything. Parents can set up purchase approval in Google Play.

Refunds

Refunds for purchases made through Google Play are handled under Google Play's refund policy. If something you bought doesn't work, please contact us and we'll do our best to fix it. These terms don't take away any refund rights you have under consumer law.

Changes to features and add-ons

We keep improving Spin Art Studio, so features and add-ons may change over time. We won't take away a paid add-on you've bought while the app is still available, unless we have to for legal, security or technical reasons. If that ever happens, we'll try to give you something fair in return.

Your art is yours

Everything you make with Spin Art Studio belongs to you. You can save it, print it, share it, sell it or use it however you like. We don't claim any rights to your art and never see it.

If you add your own pictures, make sure you have the right to use them. If you share your art, follow the rules of the app or website you share it to.

Our app

The app's code, design, name, sounds and artwork belong to Daddy's Games. That includes the paints, papers, tools and scenes in add-ons. The lettering fonts are used under their open font licences.

Be kind

Please don't use the app to make or share anything that is unlawful, hurtful, or that breaks someone else's rights.

No guarantees

We make Spin Art Studio with care, but beyond what consumer law requires, we provide it "as is". We can't promise it will always work perfectly, work on every device, or keep your saved settings forever.

Please save art you care about to your Gallery. Clearing or uninstalling the app removes anything kept inside it. Paid purchases can be restored through Google Play.

Limits on responsibility

As far as the law allows, Daddy's Games isn't responsible for any indirect loss from using, or not being able to use, the app. That includes lost art and anything that happens on other apps or websites you share to. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app and add-ons.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer laws that can't be excluded. That includes rights to a repair, replacement or refund when something you paid for has a problem.

Changes

We may update the app or these terms from time to time. When the terms change, we'll update the date at the top. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the new terms. Changes won't take away anything you've already paid for.
